I personally love to read. My bookshelves are filled with classics, memoirs, and more -- but in terms of leadership, I definitely have my six "go to" books. Check out my top 6 books for becoming a well-loved, innovative and great leader in any industry:

1. Adversity Quotient by Paul Stoltz

My favorite of the author’s many books; the foundation in my opinion. Learn about why our #! Factor for success is how well we withstand and overcome adversity. This book has helped me in tough times with keeping my perspective.

Good-to-Great-9466082. Good to Great by Jim Collins

A classic by Jim Collins, the author of another bestseller, Built to Last. Iconic for me because many of the business principles still hold and I can remember all the great metaphors even 10 years later!

515agg94WyL._SX332_BO1,204,203,200_3. 5 Dysfunctions of a Team by Patrick Lencioni

Great parable book about a fictional character who goes into a (new) difficult work environment and learns the core areas why business succeeds and fails. Great for anyone in a department or team.

4. The Go-Giver by Bob Burg & John David Mann

Bob Burg was known for some of his sales and referral marketing books, but this collaboration with John David Mann is my favorite. I prefer this over the sequel Go Givers Sell More because of the simple, powerful little ideas that bring awareness of what business life should be about.

leadership-and-Self-Deception15. Leadership & Self-Deception by Arbinger

Relatively unknown yet powerful perspective on why leaders need to (reference to Good to Great) look in the mirror more, listen to what’s not being said, and think about the “other” in their communication and style. I also love another work: The Anatomy of Peace from Arbinger

51BbAXs65QL._SX318_BO1,204,203,200_6. Difficult Conversations by the Harvard Negotiation Project – Doug Stone

This little book helped me find my own voice in handling difficult conversations and situations as a professional, then later as a mediator and business coach. Fantastic perspective on why our intentions do not necessarily translate into the impact on those around us.
